Impact
Our results
To date, Two Rabbits has reached 2,400 children in 20 villages. We have trained 75 community-nominated youth to serve as teachers, and over 100 parent-teacher association leaders to support them to create learning environments that are safe, clean, warm, and joyful.
Despite their modest backgrounds, 90% of our community teachers achieve excellent standards for classroom environmental quality. Our 2019 impact evaluation found that our learners 33% higher scores in literacy, 32% higher scores in motor skills, and 22% higher scores in numeracy, as compared to control groups.
Because our teachers are respected community role models, our learners also demonstrate greater pride in their cultural and identity. To ensure sustainability and continuous improvement, we regularly analyze data and use it to adapt our program to better serve all learners.
Social and Emotional Learning
We believe in the critical importance of social and emotional skills as a key domain of growth in early childhood. Because social and emotional skills are deeply related to culture, we have collaborated with Baka communities to create a home-grown framework and measure of these skills.
